Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' debut female singer on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The first album she released on the label on October 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she gained fame. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet back in 2012 after she released her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the internet, including her self release single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out on July 21 in 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's references. In the following season, the music was circulating around Dreamville. She was officially signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The singer released Pho, her debut EP, on Oct 21, 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she performed as a guest performer on two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video later released in September. The second single she released was, Grampa on November 9. Then, on November 13 she dropped two more singles, titled The No One or Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track that she recorded alongside Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on 16 November. The track was released as a single on its own in February of 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. The song, released with a video uploaded to YouTube on February 20, 2019, has been viewed over 3 million times in the first 7 days. She was the supporting act for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
